The "Nigerian Oil Minister" scam

~ June 10, 2008 at 23:50 (Views: 62 )

I saw that I had a message and clicked on it. Guess what popped up! Yep, the "Nigerian Oil Minister" letter. Haven't those fraudsters gotten the message that their pitch doesn't work any more? Oh well, at least it isn't as aggravating as the continuous telephone and email campaign being waged by the "Your Auto Warranty Has Expired" Phishers. I'd like to introduce them to the Russian Mafia if only to eradicate them from this existence. They are unstoppable, which makes me distrust any telephone solicitations and nearly every other telephone call.
Also, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and a rare disease group whose name escapes me at present also possess the telephone tenacity of Mormon missionaries. (Or was that the Watchtower society?) Excuse me, I'm ending this post, and return to trying to to decipher PNG pidgin that shows up in half of O-Shen's "Rascal In Paradise" music CD.
Example:
"Tupela yia I lus pinis,
Mi no save bai mi lukim yu o nogat.
Maybe sometime hai yu kam bek gen.
Mi no save, yu no bin tok taim yu lus long mi."

MP3s and streaming video

If I can tie a .JPG to the MP3, you can find Hawaiian music audio uploads at http://mog.com. This site features Indie, Alternative, Punk, Metal, Hip Hop artists and fans galore. Caution: you may find too many connections at MOG and never return to MyStrands! (I come back because this affiliated-with-Rhapsody site draws Spammers and at least one possible Phisher!)

Barefoot Natives, John Cruz, Kenneth Makuakane, Raiatea Helm, Willie K, Keali'i Reichel, 'Ale'a, Na Leo (Pilimehana), The Peter Moon Band, Cecilio & Kapono, Olomana, Sean Na'auao, Robi Kahakalau, Maunalua, The Brothers Cazimero, Keola & Kapono Beamer, Keahiwai, Opihi Pickers, Pali, IZ, Darlene Ahuna, Kawai Cockett, Maila Gibson, Melinda Caroll, Pilioha, Pekelo, Makaha Sons, Taimane Gardner, Nathan Aweau, and Don Ho are some that come to mind.
And now for other artists: Great Big Sea, Michael Martin Murphey, Alison Krauss, Jose Feliciano, Liz Story, Montreux, Hiroshima, Chuck Berry, The Kinks, Jamie Cullum, Fountains of Wayne, Anita Baker, Eva Cassidy, Simon & Garfunkel, Gordon Lightfoot, Cat Stevens, Mary Chapin Carpenter, The Who, Louis Armstrong, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Dan Fogelberg, Jim Croce, Joan Osborne, etc. (I set iTunes to Party Shuffle, which keeps things from getting stale or played out too soon.) Things are cool, windy, and occasionally sunny...if trade showers don't get you down.
